This week there have been a number of security incidents at the Channel Tunnel with trespassers trying to gain access to UK bound trains. There has also been a ferry strike that has increased the volume of traffic using the tunnel. Both these factors have affected logistic services between the UK and mainland Europe.
A high number of vehicles has been caught up in the incidents which has led to, in some cases, a 24 hour delay on parcel deliveries. There is currently a 4.5 hour delay at the Eurotunnel.
We don't want to disappoint customers, particularly when delays are out of our control so we're advising everyone of the existing situation. We will continue to ship orders as soon as reasonably possible but would like to take this opportunity to remind you that air freight alternatives are available if your order is very urgent.
